One would expect at least some measurable effect on temperature due to opening the incubators to extract contents.
Have the "slight" temperature changes been demonstrated to have no effect on the incubated contents?
Do the relevant SOPs indicate that such rounding should be done, and is that rounding scientifically justified?
This seems to be the most prudent course of action.
It was determined that the operators were indeed complying with the relevant SOP that stated that the nominal temperatures (those set using the incubator temperature controls) should be recorded. It was pointed out that this was most likely not the best scientific course of action.
